The difference between organic vegetable and regular vegetable

Other marked foods(organic vegetable) promoted by relevant departments in China include pollution-free food and organic vegetable. Pollution free food is a safe food produced according to the technical standards and requirements of pollution-free food production, which meets the general health standards and is recognized by relevant departments. Strictly speaking, pollution-free food should be a basic requirement that ordinary food should meet.

Organic vegetable is a kind of food developed by China's agricultural department in the early 1990s. It is divided into class a organic vegetable and Class AA organic vegetable. Among them, the limited use of chemical synthetic means of production is allowed in the production of class a organic vegetable, while Class AA organic vegetable is strictly required not to use chemical synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, feed additives, food additives and other substances harmful to the environment and health in the production process. In essence, organic vegetable is a transitional product from ordinary food to organic food. The difference between organic food and other foods is reflected in the following aspects(organic vegetable)
1) It is absolutely forbidden to use pesticides, chemical fertilizers, hormones and other synthetic substances in the production and processing of organic food, and genetic engineering technology is not allowed; Other foods allow limited use of these technologies and do not prohibit the use of genetic engineering technologies. For example, the use of genetic engineering and radiation technology in organic vegetable is not regulated.

2) In terms of production transformation, it takes 2-3 years from the production of other food to organic food, while the production of other food (including organic vegetable and pollution-free food) does not have the requirement of conversion period.

3) In terms of quantity control, the certification of organic food requires fixed plot and output, while other foods do not have such strict requirements.

Therefore, it is much more difficult to produce organic food than other foods. It is necessary to establish a new production system and monitoring system, and adopt corresponding alternative technologies such as pest control, soil conservation, seed cultivation, product processing and storage.
